A New Chapter: Parish Internship

Published by Ryan Tobin on

I am pleased to announce that I will be serving as a Parish Intern at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Marietta, PA. As a Parish Intern, I will spend the next nine months working alongside the rector, Rev. Gina Bautista, learning how to exercise pastoral leadership in a parish setting. At St. John’s, I will be leading parts of the Sunday worship service, preaching on a monthly basis, assisting with Sunday School and other activities, and observing how a small parish church operates.

This parish internship begins on August 1, 2021, and extends into May of 2022. The internship is part of the Field Education Program at Lancaster Theological Seminary, and is part of the requirements for the Master of Divinity degree.

I am sincerely grateful to the people of St. John’s and Mother Gina for welcoming me to their church. I look forward to learning and growing together as we serve God, and God’s beloved people, in Marietta.
