About

Ryan Tobin is a seminary student and candidate for Holy Orders in The Episcopal Church. His ministry is centered in the Diocese of Central Pennsylvania.
Ryan’s life of faith began with his baptism in the Roman Catholic Church as an infant. Shortly after finishing college, Ryan left the Catholic church and began a new journey to find a supportive church community. After moving to the Harrisburg area, Ryan discovered The Episcopal Church and became a member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral in Harrisburg.
Ryan served as a member of the Vestry and Cathedral Chapter, and also served two terms as Junior Warden of the Cathedral. After sensing a call to ordained ministry, Ryan enrolled in the Master of Divinity program at Lancaster Theological Seminary. He is currently in his third year of studies at LTS, where he will also be pursuing a Certificate in Anglican Studies in cooperation with the Stevenson School of Ministry.
In the year 2021, Ryan was admitted as a Candidate for Holy Orders by Bishop Audrey Scanlan. Ryan is currently serving as a parish intern at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Marietta, PA, under the supervision of the Rev. Gina Bautista. Ryan also serves in the Young Adult ministries of St. Stephen’s, leading a weekly Bible study and monthly TheoTap gatherings.
Ryan’s areas of interest in ministry include preaching, Bible study, community development, and political engagement.
Ryan currently resides in Mechanicsburg, PA with his wife Lindsay. Ryan and Lindsay enjoy spending time visiting parks and museums throughout Pennsylvania. Together they are rehabilitating their rescue cat, Indiana.
